Ramirez & Co. was founded in 1971 to distribute tax-exempt securities to the individual investor. Today, the Firm continues to be a retailer of municipal securities with a customer base of more than 4,000 retail accounts (approximately 35% of our retail clients are high net worth individuals). The Firm has over $1.5 billion in assets held in customer accounts, of which approximately 75% is invested in tax-exempt bonds consisting of 15,000 different issues from around the United States.

In 1986, Ramirez & Co. complemented its retail sales capabilities with an Institutional Sales and Trading Department. The Firm's institutional salespeople and traders maintain strong relationships with the largest and most active institutional investors in the marketplace, including all open-end and closed-end managed bond funds, investment advisors, bank trust departments and insurance companies including many second and third-tier institutional accounts. The Firm's comprehensive institutional coverage provides increased depth, ensuring extremely competitive pricing and an effective placement of securities among a vast network and variety of investors.
