Mr. Gort joined the Firm to provide banking expertise in the Firm’s Miami office and serves as the primary contact for Miami Dade County and the State of Florida. Mr. Gort began his career in the municipal business 17 years ago as co-founder of A.I.B.C. Investment Service Corp. Mr. Gort participated in over hundreds of financing transactions with a total par amount in excess of $50 billion over 17 years of experience. Mr. Gort’s experience in the municipal business began over 20 years ago as Executive Director of the Little Havana Development Authority, in which he was responsible for supervising all operations of the Authority. Subsequently, Mr. Gort served as Executive Director of the Downtown Miami Business Association where his responsibilities included planning, implementing and administering the economic development programs of the downtown area.

Mr. Gort is the past chairman of the City of Miami Off-Street Parking Authority, Zoning Board, Planning Board, Youth Co-op and founding member of Little Havana Nutrition and Activities Center. Mr. Gort served as Commissioner for the City of Miami from November 1993 through November 2001.

Mr. Gort received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Florida International University.
